Nutritional Medicine and Experienced Homeopath in Hong Kong

Dr. Sonal Hattangdi-Haridas, Director of Maya Health Institute, has been in private practice for 25 years and has a global clientele. Dr. Sonal is most appreciated for her practical complimentary nutritional and homeopathic treatment of recurrent, chronic allergies, skin and immunity issues, illness, emotional stress, behavioural and developmental issues.

Dr. Sonal has earned her Masters degree in Nutritional Medicine with distinction in the research project from the University of Surrey (U.K.). She has a B.H.M.S degree from Bombay University (B.H.M.S is a comprehensive five and-a-half year program including clinical experience from year 2 and a full year of hospital internship in the final year to be awarded the degree and registration) She is registered with the Homeopathic Council in India  and the UK Nutritionists registration body, the UKVRN as Associate Nutritionist.

Besides a respected result-oriented practice, She has received multiple awards from the medical and research community for her outstanding research in the field of allergy. She was conferred the second place prize for her research poster presentation on ‘Vitamin D in Atopic Dermatitis ( Eczema 皮膚炎)’ at the ‘2nd Joint Scientific and Research Meeting’ by a panel of judges from the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, Hong Kong Paediatric Society and The Hong Kong College of Paediatric Nursing on 28th July 2018. Her research in Nutritional Medicine and Eczema has also been found worthy of the Best Research Poster (Clinical) at the 10th Hong Kong Allergy Convention held on 29th Sept 2018 judged by an international panel of senior clinical and research allergists.

In her practice, Dr. Sonal, helps balance the immune system to reduce the tendency to recurrent infections, coughs, colds, bronchitis and allergies. Experienced in evidence-based applied nutrition, Dr. Sonal also helps support people with obesity, diabetes, and healthy aging complementary to their clinical dietetic advice.

Her practice supports relief of symptoms of sensory integration disorders (SPD), ADD, learning and attention problems. Due to her special interest in autism Dr. Sonal observed and trained under a speech and language pathologist, occupational therapists, sensory integration therapists to improve her understanding and communication skills with children with developmental delay. She was a key speaker at the ‘National Conference for Autism’ in Bangalore, India in 2005.
